Desde su iniciación, laFIP ha venido trabajando con diferentes laboratorios de la ciudad de Medellín para el desarrollo de convenios que permitan a los pacientes y sus familiares acceder a descuentos en ciertas pruebas de laboratorio necesarias para la identificación de ciertas IDP, así, como para la valoración de familiares con riesgo potencial de desarrollarlas. Adicionalmente, en algunos casos se hace necesario comprobar el diagnóstico mediante pruebas especializadas que no están disponibles en Colombia, por lo cual hay que enviar algunas muestras al exterior para su análisis.
